We took two real brides and created two hairstyles that you can achieve in the comfort ofyour very own boudoir! Firstly: a sexy stunning tousled look. Secondly, up with the hair anddown with a curl cascade.

Severin and his team found themselves in spellbinding Hengrave Hall. Magpie Vintage had chosen this elegant, enchanting Suffolk venue as the shoot for their glitteringly gorgeous bespoke bridal headpieces. Kate Barbour styled the shots beautifully, with bridal dresses by local award-winning designer Terry Fox, and Julia Boggio took fabulous shot after shot after shot at this picturesque Tudor setting.

Severin worked his magic on an edgy-statement-rock-chick-look. Then, in a mini French Revolution of his very own, he turned a model into a Marie Antoinette look-alike. (The famous Dauphine was renowned for her elaborate hair, which was often a metre high with incredible ornaments.) Vive La Hepburn Collection!

We’ ve appointed the fair English rose Jo Kent of Something Blue PR to take our brand to
even higher echelons! Severin has not only worked with several of Jo’ s other clients but also
styled her hair at her elegant wedding earlier in March.

Jo has always had a signature blonde bob but Severin encouraged her to grow it, rationalising that
she could cut it before the wedding if she changed her mind. He styled her hair in a loose,
romantic chignon with soft curls which were gently held in place by simple crystal hair pins.
The style complemented Jo’ s very English, very vintage look perfectly.

Sev was booked for the Beverly Lister photoshoot with Matt Bird from One Ninety Three – a busy, busy day with nine stunning gowns in the collection.  Beverly’s passion for vintage-inspired gowns led the theme across the three looks planned.

The shoot took place outdoors in the ever-so-pretty town of Godalming and the sun shone brilliantly all day.

First up was country romance. Then it was on to 1930s glamour with a slinky lace gown, pearls, soft make-up and hair styled perfectly with waves. The final look captured was downtown glamour, inspired where else but by Hollywood! The whole day was spent as if in a bygone era.  A chauffeur waiting by a Bentley with a Martini cocktail on a tray would not have been out of place!

Photographer = the Talented (note the capital ‘T’) Nobu Yamaguchi who Sev has worked with on many, many an occasion. Make up = the very lovely Abigail Alexander, with her magical touches. Stylist = the stunning, the artistic Kate Anya Barbour. And head creations = the incredible master of headpieces, i.e His Hatress – the sublime, the divine Louis Mariette!!

The shoot took place at Nobu’s hideaway London location and Sev spent the entire week beforehand preparing these incredible wigs. The most demanding creation? Why, the one with the 60” hair extensions – all individually hand-sewn by Sev himself. Rapunzel, eat your hair out!

It’s been mega busy for Sev lately. But lucky it’s not been all work, work, work and no play.

Along with la crème de la crème of the wedding industry, Sev was invited to Julia Boggio’s exclusive launch party at the end of April. It was to celebrate the opening of her stunning new studio in Merton Abbey Mills. It’s the very same studio where Sev did Kat Williams’ hair for Julia’s Vintage Boudoir shoot (as in ‘Kat-with-the fabulous-head-turning-pink hair’ of Rock ‘n Roll Bride fame). Because of Kat’s striking pink hair, Julia had to choose backgrounds and outfits that didn’t clash – or elseones that clashed outrageously for uber stand-out. Even more recently, Sev worked on a shoot with Kat Williams for her very own website and publicity materials. Sev proclaimed, “I’m gonna rock your hair” and that’s exactly what he did! He coiffed and quiffed and backcombed away for a stunning cerise cockatoo hairdo – see these hot off the press shots of Kat’s Fun Rock Hair! The lovely bubbly Emma Case was the photographer, with her distinctive vintage style.

A huge thank you to beautiful bride Anna for her lovely words on the Rock My Wedding blog with equally lovely photos by Crash Taylor. Anna writes, “My hair was done by the wonderful Sev from the Hepburn Collection He and his wife Roz were fantastic, we had such a giggle and he is a master hairdresser!” Anna had her hair in a bun to the side and, instead of a classic tiara, wore a dazzling stylish piece of Jo Thorne jewellery.

Four hundred guests; three days of festivities; one stunning Indian bride – Sev and Roz were invited to the wedding celebrations in Cardiff along with talented make-up artist Kim Simpson. Sev created three stunning hairstyles for day and for evening, with and without a veil. The bride wore the most fabulous saris; the colours were amazing and the detailing so gorgeously vibrant. Wow – what a wedding!

A huge welcome to the fantastic, exciting, new Hepburn Collection blog!

So, where to start? Maybe by letting you into a secret. Sev called by at Louis Mariette’s atelier off Sloane Square the other day (you know, the celebrity milliner…the judge on ‘Britain’s Next Top Model’). They’re planning to do a shoot together so Sev has been busy creating and refining some AMAZING sketches for ideas. Shhh for now, but more to come v. soon.

Sev’s diary has also got two mega events booked in. He adores working with internationally-renowned make-up artist Lina Cameron and is thrilled she’s asked him to style a series of before-and-after shots for her website later this month. There’s more excitement still – he’s taking part in yet another fabulous jewellery and hair showcase with tip-top accessories guru Jo Thorne.
